What a crazy past couple of weeks it's been: Rachel and Tim both graduated, Karl started grad school at NYU Steinhardt, and summer unofficially started. We figured we might as well celebrate all this by playing our first show in Hartford in a hot minute.

We'll be joining Undersea and our new buds Black River Union (the newly renamed Drakeville) at one of Hartford's newest venues, The Tap 88. You might remember the room as Sweet Jane's from back in the day. It's back under totally new ownership and we're super excited to be there.

Hey, here's an idea: If you're in the area, why not hop on the new Fastrak to the show? You know, since we're celebrating new beginnings and all. You can avoid headache (and wallet-ache) of parking in downtown Hartford, AND you don't have to worry about who's driving. Think about it. We would if we didn't have to bring guitars and stuff.

<![CDATA[On Gigs and Bettering Oneself]]>Sun, 19 Apr 2015 07:37:31 GMThttp://www.postmodernpanic.com/news/on-gigs-and-bettering-oneself
First let's just say: WOW. We couldn't have been more blown away with last night's show. The crowd at Snapper Magee's was electric - seriously, if you're anywhere near Torrington you need to check this place out for live music. The bands were phenomenal, each and every one. The staff was great (especially Craig, the manager). The sound was great. Everything was great. And if we do say so ourselves, we played great. This was the kind of night that makes this so addicting.

Also, we're thrilled to announce that Karl has been accepted to grad school at NYU Steinhardt for music technology! He'll be starting this summer and will be spending four days a week in NYC - so we very well may be heading down there for a gig or two! Seems the appropriate thing to do at any rate. We will keep rocking of course, but if production slows down a bit for a couple months we'll know who to blame.

It was a real thrill to get back to our favorite part of this whole band thing - playing shows. Thanks to Drakeville and Kalimur, to Pub 32, and to an awesome and welcoming crowd! It was especially a thrill to debut our brand new song "Trust Me," which we've been working super hard to get just right all this time we've been tucked away.

Well, this is exciting: After an extended break to work on recordings and life, we're getting back on stage this Friday! We've just jumped on board with Drakeville and Kalimur at Pub 32 in Storrs and couldn't be happier to be back at it. We're busting out some new surprises this time around so come on down.

And if that wasn't enough, earlier last week we re-donned our band photo garb and laid down some... video! We can't tell you too much about it right now, one thing at a time! See you all Friday.

The past month and a half have been kind. The new year has been rung in, and Tim and Rachel are hard at work in school and in the studio laying down parts. Progress is good so far, with all but a couple songs well underway. Looking forward to the first batch being ready.

Progress on the new recordings: So far so good! Progress on Karl's haircut: Not so good. Here's a little taste of what we've been up to, with Karl laying down some guitars to "End of Time."

<![CDATA[Post-Modern Adventure Time]]>Sun, 02 Nov 2014 06:28:24 GMThttp://www.postmodernpanic.com/news/post-modern-adventure-time
The new year is still two months away, but 2015 is already shaping up to be about moving up to the next level. All three of us (hopefully, keep your fingers crossed for Karl) will be bettering ourselves with 100% more education, and we're finally jumping back into the studio to get to work on our most ambitious project to date! As such, we'll be taking a little break from the stage until next year while we get all these awesome new things ready.

But before we turn the page, we finished up our whirlwind run in 2014 with perhaps our favorite show yet on our favorite holiday, in which we paid tribute to one of our favorite shows. That's right, last night we joined Joey Batts and Them and 1974 at the Main Pub as Finn the Human, Marceline, and Bemo from Adventure Time (and notice Jake the Dog in Karl's pocket). It was one of the most fun nights we've had on stage yet. Here's to many more in 2015 and beyond!
